Tell me how to make it not suck.
Look, I know GameStop gets a bad rap on the internet, but here's something that may make it better. Go to GameStop, pick up a used game and try it out for a week. If you don't like it within the week, take it back and get something else. Just don't abuse it, please.

Also, your XBONE should have come with IV Black Flag and Unity (which has been mostly patched, from what I hear from customers,) as 3 wasn't released on the Bone.

Game suggestions: Shadow of Mordor (for the love of everything unholy, pick up this game!), FIFA/Madden/NBA2K 15, Forza Horizon 2, Diablo: Ultimate Evil Edition, Tomb Raider Definitive, and Dragon Age Inquisition (although I'd recommend more for PC.) I've heard great things about the story mode of Advanced Warfare, but it's Cod of Duty, so I'm skeptical. Ryse: Son of Rome gets rave reviews for its story, but clunky mechanics, samey battles and short overall gameplay make it not worth a ton of money. Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes goes on sale a lot, but it's really short unless you dick around a lot. Like, glorified demo short. If you like the True Crime series, check out Sleeping Dogs.

Also, check out ScreamRide in March. That game should definitely be on PC, because it's every DF+Rollercoaster Tycoon fanboy's collective dream.

Wow, I had no idea the "Adults" thought videogames were for kids for the LONGEST time.

I am watching a bunch of PSAs about how Videogames are hurting children.

HOLY COW! Videogames are like some sort of alien concept to them

"Videogames come in two types... Sports and Adventure"

I don't know if I should be laughing... or shuddering in fear because they are ahead of the curve with the "Videogames come in shooter and everything else" thing you keep hearing.

So, I seem to have built up a heavy resistance to Trazadone in the week and a half I have taken it. How do I even?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I seem to build resistances to drugs extremely quickly and it is really annoying. I can't take ibuprofen because it stopped helping at all after I took it for half a month one time when I was younger. Why do you do this body?

Had a sociology exam just now. The exam itself consisted of ten questions for which we had to pick the answers. They gave us two hours to do that for some reason. Finished it in 20 minutes, dunno what to do now.

that's part of the potential downside of meds. I had a crash years ago because one of my meds stopped working (and it made me lose weight when it worked so that made even more depressed to put back on pounds.) I've noticed I build up immunities fairly fast but I think that is because I am on so many meds already.

Got an xbox one, and I am conflicted. First, I am surprised such a large purchase was made. Given the financial situation, I feel guilty when people spend so much on me.Second, if a console were to be purchased, I assumed it would be a WiiU, given Nintendo has always been the console we got. Third, I am skeptical about the value of the purchase. The Xbone has a questional rep, as most of you know. Disregarding quality, I'm not sure which games really seem interesting, though I may find a few gems, if we can even afford them. It came with AC 3&4, and I got a 1yr live gold. The free games seem nice, if they last past a month, but the sub still has to be maintained, so ehh...

Is this gonna suck? Please tell me this wont suck.Tell me how to make it not suck. Game suggestions? Maybe this belongs in a different thread.

I'm not sure where you've heard about the X-bone having a "questionable reputation", but I've never heard of any serious quality control problems with it (it was the first-flight Xbox 360s that had the "red ring of death" crock), and not only is Live is only necessary for multiplayer, you also get two free games a month with it (at least on 360, I'm not 100% sure about the -Bone as I don't have one), and the cost is quite low if you're careful (last time I bought a year of Live (which is the same service for 360 and XB1), it cost me about $40 due to a Black Friday sale on 3-month cards.

As for games, my knowledge is more limited as I've only been able to play the ones that have been ported to PC or appeared first on the 360 (I don't have the money for either next-gen console yet, and I'm leaning toward PS4), but Dead Rising 3 is really good, and GTA V is amazing (keep in mind that I'm basing that on the significantly-worse 360 version, the next-gen one will be even better). There's also a Halo 1-4 collection, and Halo is a pretty decent FPS series. Honestly, unless you really like Smash Brothers and the New Super Mario Brothers series, the XB1 is a far, far better console than the WiiU anyway.

Things done today: Spent ~15 minutes bouncing catfood off a cat.

The "Mystery Gift" that I mentioned in the Wintermas thread is apparently still in China, according to Amazon's tracking service.

Either there's an error or whatever I'm getting was literally just made in the last few days.

"And you know, Jesus"

Well I don't know snarky reviewer. In many versions of Santa he often existed before Christmas was a thing.

*Checks Wikipedia*

In the 1600s

And given the amount of Christmas specials where Santa exists in Caveman times...

Though there is one Christmas special that stands out because it features someone I like to call "Secular Santa" (which I only do because he has the honor of being the second best Santa origin story out there... With the best one, while not overtly Christian, having lots of Christian overtone).

But why is it interesting? Well in spite not being related to Jesus in anyway... Santa delivers presents on Christmas because the gods, or specifically the fairy god in this case, saw that a lot of people seem to celebrate on the 25th (suggesting it was Christmas).

Double bonus for the one with religious overtones having the 25th be the day Santa Delivers being because that is the day he got married.
-It is hard to explain the overtones... Because Angels in it of themselves are not religious on their own. But at one point a Warlock prays to God for magic. This ignores that it shares continuity with the Christian specials, but I don't count that.

---

Also I keep hearing about Buddha's Stone Bowl...

And everytime I hear of it, it sounds like the most fictitious artifact that ever existed. I'd sooner believe you could find the plates where the Mormon religion was inscribed on... or find the burning bush Moses saw in the desert.

But I have to ask, is it an actual thing?

Because my impression was that the Stone Bowl of Buddha was meant to be a metaphor for spiritual enlightenment. Not an actual stone bowl.

Am I just applying metaphor where it was a actual physical object with a metaphorical meaning, or was it always supposed to be a metaphor?

The original Santa is based on the worship of a saint that was used to replace a goddess on one particular area, going from a sort of healing religion to a more masculine one, I thought.

I believe so, let me check

*checks*

YES! in fact the Life and Adventures of Santa Claus got an animated remake that actually looks better then the original. Which normally I wouldn't mention, but the original seemed cheaper then usual.
