You're getting old.  'The Friend Zone' was slang at best, now that pop culture sank its teeth into it, its definition is defined by the youngest generation.  That's not me, and apparently not you.

Have any of you needed a replacement for something you own.

So someone buys you a replacement for you.

But you just don't use it anyway because while your current one is busted up and REALLY needs to be switched... You don't want to exchange it for an inferior product.

I got a keyboard for Christmas, and while the mouse I got is perfect (In fact better then my old one while it was brand new)... the Keyboard is one of those tiny keyboards with the small shift key and enter key.

Those always drive me nuts.

Yes >_< I kind of want to return over half my gifts this year... The worst being the PS4 because WOW is it not worth keeping but we are going to keep it because everyone in the house WHO DON'T USE ONE have this irrational expectation of usefulness from it.

"But games will come out!" at which point I respond "Like?"

And then my Sister wants to play this ONE game for it and that is pretty much the only game she will ever play on it (a game with no gameplay by the way... it is that game where you are shown around a house over and over again until the game just ends)... making it a incredibly expensive present.

Which REALLY frustrates me because it is such a waste of money when we can just return it.

But we don't return it because it is so expensive.

and it REALLY REALLY frustrates me because it is a gift... For me... and when they brought it up I already said how much I didn't want a PS4... It also shows such a lack of foresight as we also got a bunch of PS4 accessories we can't actually use and had to stop them from wasting others (using the years worth of PS4 internet... When we have NO multiplayer games.)

Keyboard was fine, I asked for it... it just wasn't a good selection, I probably would have exchanged it for a better keyboard. The Thermal Fleece underwear? Not what I asked for but it shows attention to what I like (Heck I love it!)

The Dark chocolates... Not what I asked for, not what I like, and the person who bought it for me likes dark chocolate... but it was an honest mistake they didn't actually look at what they were buying.

I don't know... I don't like it when people get me really expensive gifts without the forethought to ask me and then expect me to like it... Or when they buy themselves a gift through me. I know who the PS4 was really for. Since they DID ask me, I said I didn't want it, and they bought it anyway.

Unfortunately not only does my Dad want it, for "it is so expensive and high techy I am sure I'll need it", and my sister does as well... for a single game.

I'd have no problem giving it away and getting nothing in return.

That is true... But I also told them which console I do like, told them I don't like the PS4.

They ultimately just wanted the PS4, but bought it for me... As well as my brother who outright said he didn't want a PS4 as well...

Which is why I guess I am actually mad. Worse yet is they are right now in the "Ohh he is just grumpy phase, he will come around and love the PS4"... and as soon as anyone opens that box... BOOM! It can't be returned.

My Sister only wanted it for Silent Hill P T as I found out.

While she only wants because of the Demo that is a teaser for the actual game... that she won't even be able to play the actual game of.

Got an xbox one, and I am conflicted. First, I am surprised such a large purchase was made. Given the financial situation, I feel guilty when people spend so much on me.Second, if a console were to be purchased, I assumed it would be a WiiU, given Nintendo has always been the console we got. Third, I am skeptical about the value of the purchase. The Xbone has a questional rep, as most of you know. Disregarding quality, I'm not sure which games really seem interesting, though I may find a few gems, if we can even afford them. It came with AC 3&4, and I got a 1yr live gold. The free games seem nice, if they last past a month, but the sub still has to be maintained, so ehh...

If you have financial problems? yes.

The consoles have started to evolve into nagware with even simple features requiring online or money.
