Kiki fruit allergies are definitely a thing, especially in people who have other allergies (notably latex or bananas, a strange combination I won't comment further on).

On a more anecdotal level, I knew someone who ate Kiwis to excess and developed an allergy to them after that. Not sure if it was a low-lying allergy that just got worse (or more noticeable) after eating a lot, a genuinely new allergy developed in response to the high dose and irritation or partially psychosomatic.

I'm going to have kiwis at some point in the future when I have money just to try them with the skin, now.

I have a macaw named Kiki. This amuses me.
