Yet is that PURELY so that the watcher can project themselves into this person, or is there some aspect of this persona that is inherently pleasing to men?
No on the first before the comma and...on the question: They're people. :O
So I guess its appreciation of abstract values.
...
I'm a bit confused by that post ._. its a bit too general.

So, it sort of occured to me a while ago, but after some more thinking, I've sorta come to realize that there are so many shared menus and mechanics between the different open-world ubisoft games, most of them are essentially spin-offs of each other. the menus look and feel similar, the maps look similar, you're always finding/climbing towers to reveal chunks of map. Menu based crafting. I'm sure there's more stuff too when I sit down to look at it.

Some companies kind of have that style.

Dune 2 and Command and Conquer for example... They feel like different games in the same series. Right down to their menus.

Jade Empire and Dragon Age? Feel like different games in the same series... in spite having completely separate mechanics.

It could be also they're using the same engine for each game. I imagine few companies are going to write up a new engine every time they have to make a game.

"Fallout 3", "Fallout: New Vegas" and "Oblivion" all have the same feel to their jumping (kind of soft, floaty just as you hit the ground) and the same edge detection for objects like rocks when jumping on them. Of course, I know they use the same engine (Gamebryo) and I saw those similarities while I was playing "Warhammer Online" and "Divinity II".

Edit: I was wrong on one account, "Skyrim" uses the "Creation Engine", created by "Bethesda".

So, I just watched DHMIS2.
It's... About the best horror experience I've ever encountered because this doesn't have any jump scares, and lasts for a few minutes, but it's something that goes right through the Stoney outer layer of cynicism or desensitisation, and pierces into a yet unbeknownst part of your soul, leaving you with a true distilled feeling of fear, not from mere adrenalin either, but from something that leaves a lasting impact, something deep within.

It gets creepy quickly, is what I'm saying.

There is something deeply wrong about the universe in which Don't Hug Me I'm Scared takes place.
Have you noticed that in every single episode, the date is the exact same: 19th of June. Even in the segments taking place in the past.

I still think DHMIS1 had the most impact. Largely because I went in to it with only a "haha watch this funny video". And I was all like "ok, a kids show parody, when's the funny part happ...ohgodwhatisthatIdonteven". The second was good, but you were waiting for the weirdness, still kinda f---ed up, probably would be better than the first if seen before the first. The third was just weird.

The first one was somewhat amusing.

The second one was nothing but lame. I'm sorry people, your opinions are all wrong.

Is this made by Aperture? It looks like it is. As a consequence it looks like it'll probably flood my house with neurotoxin.
I think I'll pass on that.

I highly doubt it'll work as well in real life as it does in the commercial. The voice is also kinda pitchy, I feel like it'd get annoying after a while. It's kind of interesting as a concept, but I'm not really confident that the execution is there.
