Sorry if this has already been posted on the boards, but....

Marvel and Attack on Titan are going to have a crossover

It's an anime with giant naked men-things, a good amount of blood, and plenty of screaming.

Go watch it :P

Whereever Manga is sold, or online if you want to watch the video version.

I think the Manga version is better, but then I prefer books to movies, so Im biased.

Getting the odd urge to go play through Vision of the Future again. There's something about the thought of someone taking the concept of a Starcraft/Ranma 1/2 crossover campaign and then somehow spinning it out into one of the longest and best made set of custom campaigns Broodwar ever saw.

Seriously, 89 freaking maps split over four separate campaigns. That spawned from someone wanting to stick ranma characters into a starcraft map.

Re: Moral Relativism

I've found that the best heuristic for approximating universal laws of morality is figuring out what people try to rationalize and come up with euphemisms for. To go with our running example, nobody's okay with genocide, so call it something else. I mean, you do wind up in some tricky situations when you try to define what constitutes rationalizations and euphemisms (I wouldn't agree with a Libertarian on how to classify taxes, for example), but it's served me a lot more reliably and simply than anything else I've worked out, and at least the "look at how people behave" gives me a basis for empiricism that the usual approach of "The things I think are fundamental are universal, obviously" lacks.

So by your standard, the worst thing in the universe is sex?
That... is a damn fine point. I'll need to reconsider this.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Existence is the root cause of all ills.

... but nah, I'd say there's a difference between rationalization euphemism and "try to phrase it so the kids aren't boinking like monkeys the instant puberty kicks off" euphemism. Different sorts of goals, y'know?

Oh, yeah, intuitively there's an obvious difference there, but I'd like to nail it down into something a little more concrete. I mean, if I just say that I can exclude one group of euphemisms because they're clearly not evil, I'm right back where I started.

Well, the latter... isn't really there to deflect? Or something? With rationalization-style ones, the intent is to draw attention away from it, normalize it (in discourse, if not reality), make it more ignorable. With sexy-time ones, it's... really not. I mean, there's sorta' that for youngins, but... no one else. It's more wordplay -- playful in general, really -- euphemism than obfuscation euphemism. Or something. Hell, sexy-time euphemism can sometimes be more explicit than being explicit, amazingly. You don't really see that with conscience soothing euphemism.

Bam. Start on Episode 1.

Unfortunately, only the first half is currently available at the moment :/

Netflix has 25 episodes, which I believe is the entirety of the anime so far.
