Man, game theorists are, generally, dumb.

Evidence: I was somewhere on the internet, and a bunch of guys were touting that the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was supposed to be an analogy for grief: Link dies at the start, and each of the four areas symbolizes a stage of grief.

Of course, they fail to explain how a trippy swamp full of crazy-looking monkeys and walking plant people symbolizes denial, how a frozen mountaintop with a bunch of rock dudes symbolizes depression, how a beach with a giant flying turtle and a dead fish-man represents bargaining, and how an abandoned kingdom is supposed to symbolize acceptance.

Another theory is that he died in the Lost Woods and that Termina was a purgatory, allowing him to become the dead guy who teaches you hidden skills in Twilight Princess, which makes just about as much sense.

If you ask me, they're looking for meaning in the wrong place. Nintendo never builds hidden meaning into their games, and it's a pre-Gamecube-era game. It'd be like calling a Winnie the Pooh story an allegory for human suffering.

I don't think you're aware of the Channel/Show Game Theory. The whole point is doing it for fun, really. No other reason.
Some people like to look into things much deeper than needed. Fuck, Game Theory even explained why the guards were going on about knees.
