Autocorrect is pretty myopic.

My very favourite autocorrect was in one of mastacheeses games, where I wrote something but was autocorrected to 'chipmunk salad' upon which Martha Mastha Masta and I had a casual talk about the validity of chipmunk salad.
Salad made by chipmunks, keep in mind.

Oh, and the term 'mastha' to 'Martha'.

You know what is odd?

I am starting to respect some horror games for just ending... No loose ends, no ending "Or is it?", no nothing it is OVER!

Though my favorite ending to a horror game will forever be Phantasmagorias.

It's not that odd. I got sick of the whole mindscrew-but-not-really-a-mindscrew bollocks years ago.

Wow, got another EA videogame series death threat.

This time for The Sims.

I wonder if I should take it seriously or not...

Apperantly not because The Sims 4 still sold well...

Why EA? SimCity was your own dang fault.

Honestly I've never heard of a company outright saying this...

One of my classes this semester requires me to make and upkeep a blog on a U.S. Senate race. I feel dirty inside in a way I've never felt before.

What do you mean by EA videogame series death threat? As in 'we'll end the series'?

Because if it's that, I can't help but think of that one scene in Blazing Saddles where the protagonist takes himself hostage.

Yeah, could use a link or something. Makes no sense.

I looked up the material properties of diamond and converted them to DF properties.

That's 12 times as strong as Adamantine, though infinitely less elastic. That's the lower bound.

Well, time to re-mod gem weapons and armor in.

Where did you find the info? Maybe I'll spend an afternoon doing the rest of them.

Note that armor made out of that will simply not work due to how damn elastic it is. That's... a bit odd, really, but elasticity is determine by various modulus of elasticity and the bulk modulus of 443 GPa (which is way, way more than most materials) just doesn't compare to the 60 GPa of the tensile strength.

The strain at yield stuff are ratios between yield and modulus.

For those of us who are not engineers, does that mean it's very brittle?

The exact opposite, which makes even less sense.

Adamantine is brittle. Very, very, very brittle. The instant you apply 5 GPa of pressure to it, it will shatter, with the cracks propagating at the speed of sound in the material; being a perfectly inelastic material, this speed is infinite. Since no weak points can exist in this material, this basically means that, at 5 GPa of pressure, a piece of adamantine will immediately (FTL) crumble into monatomic dust.

Or something.
