Informed that all employees need to take 4 hours of mandatory overtime every week for the forseeable future.

Good news I can choose when I want the overtime.  Bad news I can only choose one of the preapproved times.

None of these preapproved times line up with before or after my shift.  They are all either during my shift so I can't take them, or 3 hours before and after my shift.

Entirely pointless, honestly. On the high-traffic boards stuff is only up for a few hours in the first place, and it's also trivial to modify an image to bypass automated filters. All you have to do is change a pixel.

Manditory Overtime has always been a thing.

It also isn't unusual for a business not to promote you just because you havn't been putting in overtime (this is a common way Pregnant women, or just women with children in general, get screwed over)

Suuuuuure they can. It's called "work four hours more or get out". Or never get promoted, get schedule buggered for the rest of ever, etc., so forth, so on. You (maybe) get paid more for that mandatory overtime, but it's, well. Not a choice. Despite whatever your contract may say (and it probably has a section on mandatory overtime, so any attempts to find succor there can get bent).

While I can't speak for Grak, the vast majority of workers in the US have no contract, and can be ordered to work any number of hours that the employer wants, when they want, and can be terminated for any reason, or none.
