So I didn't have anything against Lana being in the game, but why the heck did she get this as one of her movesets instead of giving to say Saria for instance.

... y'know, thinking on that, that's a lil'morbid. People should not peel people. Or potatoes, even. Cut out the eyes and mumbly bits, I guess, but leave the skin and eat!

So is this hyrule warriors thing one big "kill hordes of mooks" or is there gonna be more Zelda-esque exploring and puzzles and stuff or what?

 mostly the first one with a teensy tiny hint of the second.

It's an interesting change for the Zelda genre, cool that they're mixing it up like that.

And there's always a market for mook farming simulators. Just look at the entire market of Diablo-clones.

I always liked the mook bashing in zelda games more than the puzzles.  The fights in zelda were always more entertaining than just stab this thing til it dies. And not just the bosses either. You had Darknuts that would raise and lower their shield to block your attacks, turtles that needed knocked on their backs to be harmed, Other darknuts that you have to cut off the straps of their armor on their backs, mobs you had to pounce and bite all at the same time or they would rez...

I really love fighting stuff in zelda games.  I kinda wish zelda games would implement an optional dungeon or two with no puzzles, just monsters in interesting combinations.  I remember wind waker had something like that, more zelda games should have it.

...Unfortunately while dynasty warriors games do scratch a particular itch, I'm not convinced the combat will be anywhere near the same as a proper zelda game.

Darknuts are easily the coolest Zelda enemies to date. Twilight Princess had a mook rush dungeon too, I beat it to hell 'n back twice.

Still trying to get the 999 hit heart piece or whatever outta Orca.

Most of the moves in that game seem to either move your character so quickly, or cause damage across such a wide area, that the basic mooks literally cannot hit you.

Yep that's how Dynasty Warrior games are. Unless you're on the hardest difficulty. Anyways the real threat in them is from the hero characters instead of the mooks.
