Atlier Isis 3 *checks name proper* Atelier Iris 3

Dang does that game hold its cards close.

The game is sort of like what would happen if the characters in an RPG cared more about side quests then they did with the main plot and actively avoid it.

Even more than the obvious common sense issues is that this amount of money is way in excess of all other cases where a tobacco company has been fined. It totally defies precedent, and that alone is strong grounds to appeal.

I don't think they can lobby for a single fine. Also that lobbying isn't really aa big a thing outside of 'murrica.

The way I see it, making punitive damages large enough that it worries the company is exactly what one should be doing. It's an excessive amount of money for her to be receiving, perhaps, but it's not an excessive amount of money for them to be paying.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm kinda wondering when it became the companies responsibility to think for the consumer, why tobacco companies are responsible for the consequences & not breweries/fast food industry, & whether there will be room for anything I actually want to know about a product once they've finished slapping fifty million warning messages on products.

The funniest warning message I've ever seen was on a pack of chocolate peanuts.
Warning: may contain traces of peanuts & other nuts.

most of these warnings is just covering your ass from frivolous lawsuits

such as this one honestly

i mean, what the fuck, this is the same thing as asbestos just about everyone knows it's bad for you but somehow when people keep using it somehow the producer is responsible

Best warning I've ever seen was on a packet of hot dogs: "May contain meat". You... don't sound so sure about that. MAY contain meat? So if it DOESN'T in fact, contain meat, they can say that they never claimed it FOR SURE had meat. That is an oddly specific situation you've prepared for. I'll just put these back on the shelf.
