The first two are made and mantained by Valve thou (I think).  While the others just use the engine, and do major changes.  From what I can tell this just changes what you are using and adds maps, and is still set in the Portal continuity.

Yes, they were made by Valve. It's very problematic to make the distinction between "was made by a company" and "was made by employees of the company when they were hired for previous work and asked for continuation on that work".

I think that "polar vortex" that was mentioned a few times finally got down to my neck of the woods. Overcast and actually somewhat cool outside at the moment, which is about what I expected. Hard to get snow and ice in California unless you go up into the mountains
