it's weird as fuck to be listening to mashups of something on soundcloud then having some idiot neighbor play it ridiculously loud and you realize, yes, this is a popular thing, people enjoy this unironically, this is not actually the giant joke that you are looking for

and i kinda want to plug in my speaker system and show them the joke but i might get that confiscated for disturbing public order i'm not sure how that works but surely counter-blasting someone with anything from homosexual pornography to pomegranates under the guise of musical satire would cause more annoyance than the fact someone is not in on the joke

they mean people are allowed opinions and teaching kids that's not really a thing is a good meta-lesson somebody would be wise to impart onto them

Nothing, tbh. I just don't go about expecting to hear others talking about things like that, and I was completely unsure of how to react. I did the first thing that came to mind and asked him to stop.

Well, it's less namestealing and more name-buying, often together with the guys behind the original mods as well.
