Friggin' hilarious WTF:
Quote from: Robert Pattinson, the actor playing Edward in Twilight
When you read the [Twilight series], it’s like saying 'Edward Cullen is so beautiful I creamed myself.' I mean every line is like that. He’s the most ridiculous person who’s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn't do it. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that’s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he’s a 108 year-old virgin, so there’s clearly some issues there.

Robert Pattinson despised twilight (and Stephanie Meyer, too.)

I remember seeing a thing on the news where he dove into rush hour traffic to escape the fangirls.

Poor deluded soul.

You can't escape the fangirls.

No one escapes the fangirls.

NO ONE.

I got a thing of iced tea bags (as opposed to the instant powder mix). I assumed it would be like I've had it before, where you get several big pouches that each make a gallon.

Nope. They're just regular tea bags; the package said to use 3-5 to make a quart. So I put twenty of the suckers in, having to unwrap each of them from their individual packets, and I tied all their tails (is there a special word for the strings on the end of tea bags. 'Cause, if not, I'm just gonna go ahead and call them tails) together so I can easily fish them out again when they're done seeping.

Had a customer today who returned something. No big deal, was within return policy. To take a return, though, I need information, to keep people from scamming the stores. Dude didn't know his phone number, zip code, address, email, and I swear to you, I shit you not, he balked at his own last name. This customer was older than me by several years, and didn't appear to be special needs in any way. We carried on a lengthy conversation about sports and computers before his return.

How does someone like this live to be an adult?

It's... entirely possible if their normal situation is such that you don't really use any of those for an extended period. I have trouble remembering the phone number of the place I'm staying, don't know the zip code, and probably would forget some or all of my name if it wasn't so short -- I barely ever hear or use it. You just... when you don't really use the stuff, you have trouble remembering it. Or forget it entirely. And plenty of that's information we just... record somewhere, these days, so we have less pressures re: remembering 'em.

I wish I could forget my last name. Then I could make up something more dramatic.

Somehow, people in Korea started believing that grinding up house leek and putting it in yoghurt is a panacea that prevents cancer, diabetes, atopy, and also strengthens your immune system.

This is going to bring you more trouble than its worth when you're going to need your citizenship records for jobs and stuff :P

Nono, it's spelled "placebo" not "panacea" :P

Also possibly "nonfunctioning" but eh.

Bright side, though! At least it's leeks and not lice or leeches.

... more seriously it's most likely someone in the leek business got canny and started a stealthy marketing trend. Follow the money and you find the cause. Or yogurt business, sure.

I'd rather it be leeks or leaches than bits of critically endangered animals.

The house leek is more of an aloe type plant than a leek though. My quick search tells me that house leeks do work when applied topically to sunburns or itchy skin or mosquito bites.

No, I mean it's better than thinking that, say, rhino horns are cure-alls, fueling increased poaching. Nothing to do with lice :P

I was looking at some Ancient Egyptian religious art recently, and I reached an extremely disturbing conclusion: the Egyptians were all closetpyramid furries who used religious art to avoid coming out. They had some really fetish fuel-y  creation stories too; at least one that I can think of involved autofellatio.
