Some viruses (I don't think virii is the plural?) insert their genetic code before mitosis/meiosis. In other words, they add extra code. True, later they cut up the host's code, but it's still similar to what happens between sperm and egg.

Not necessarily. While lysogenic cycle viruses are able to revert to the lytic, 'shit blowing up' method of reproduction, a lot of them don't. Hell, we have quite a lot of those in our DNA, most notoriously with retrotransposons, which are basically virus-like parasitic DNA, likely viral DNA which got stuck in the human genome a bunch of generations back.

I claim being pressured into it by other people and subsequently have no personal responsibility.

AFAIK both are equally valid, although 'virii' is a Latinism.

So while looking for something decent to get Arx with, I stumbled across this.

Pfft.

EDIT: Okay Here's what I was after. It looks menacing enough.

"Virii"? I have never seen it used before. After a brief search, it is described as being based on a misunderstanding of Latin. Wikitionary claims that there is no evidence for the word "virii" in Latin, either.

I think the plural for "virus" is "infection".

You could have a bacterial infection though.

Had dinner from a new fish & chip place down the road.

Thickest fish I've ever had. Easily two-to-three times the width of other fish places in the area.

Fish place we go to, when you order a large fish, does it LARGE.

I'm no good with measurements, however, so I can't tell you the size. Easily over a foot long and about half a foot wide at its widest? Pretty thick, too.

What type of fish was it?

Normally we just get haddock, which comes in small square slices. Usually only a few inches long, and not very thick at all. Usually pretty greasy, too.

Virus might go under the definition of life because they evolve, but that has implications regarding artificlal "life". And also what we're looking for when we call something alive, what does that mean, what does it change for something to be life/not-life? Great, you labeled it as life/not-life, what does that get you?

Apparently my little comment about viruses not being alive has turned into a multipage discussion that has accomplished nothing except take up space. Welp, I feel accomplished.
