So my girlfriend recently started watching Community.  One episode, a character talked about how her cat had diabetes and would probably have to be put down.  About 3 months ago my girlfriend's cat had to be put down because of diabetes.  This is while we were watching a comedy mind you.

Actually, on consideration, I think we do have banana spiders in Thailand. They're pretty small though if I can recall correctly.

It would make a dull plot if giant spiders from Alpha Centauri Bb invaded Earth and then promptly suffocate due to size.

If they can suffocate, then how did they reach Earth in the first place?

This movie doesn't even exist and already we're finding plot-holes :V

Obviously they are very intellegent giant magma spiders because they have spaceships. 

They suffocate when they open the hatch to their spaceships to bring their message of peace and ask permission to eat all of our household cockroaches and termites.  Because War of the Worlds taught us that aliens don't understand basic bio-containment procedures.

I'd think these massive spiders would have envirosuits or something, so they don't die.  Cause space exploration... Yet, somehow they decide they don't need envirosuits to survive on earth?

Is the thing she's repeating something that you disagree with? (And if so is it something she technically is in charge of? Car she pays for, etc.?) Or is she just being repetitive for no particular reason?

Worst comes to worst you can always fall back on the "I disagree with you" route where you just keep repeating that until they get the message. I find most people tend to run out of steam pretty quickly when that's the only response they get. (And if they ask why you can just say "I've already told you why", assuming you've already tried to do so at least once).
