USSR thread is a lot like Fenrir.

It grew fast, changing from a tamed pet to hazardous monster, but still tamed one. People feared it's destructive potential and tried to contain it several times, which never helped. It had been rising again and again.
Now, USSR thread is officially considered as a provocational, I guess, and into oblivion it goes.
But one day, it shall rise and overrun moderation, destroying Bay12.

To be fair, both that one and the first one got flamey in part because it's so polarizing, but mainly they went down because someone started spouting conspiracy theories and generally riling things up.

I was trying to keep the heat down while at the same time trying to pop Webbers logical bubble.

Really though, the situation there is heating up and attitudes will also heat up. Otherwise it's been pretty civil between UR and the other Russian forumers (aside from Gogis).
