Not in general, but I love Optimus Prime as the ideal of a leader and Starscream as an amusingly backstabberific little piece of shit.

But isn't VOTOMS more Real Robot, less Super Robot? IIRC it plays the whole milSF thing pretty straight, or at least as close to hard SF as a series with mechs can get.
