I was playing The Sims 3.  Mean/Evil sims have to impress celebrities before they can scare them and beat them up, even if they are Emperor of Evil. Luckily, it's easy for an Emperor of Evil to impress them.

So I keep having this dream, and it's almost like a Spy Kids movie, if the plot of Spy Kids was more like Indiana Jones. It starred Aubrey Plaza, too, which was odd because normally if I need other people in my dreams they're either people I know or nondescript NPCs.
It started in the middle of the first act. They had found this map that would lead them to some ancient ruins, but they couldn't figure out how to decrypt it. I was seeing everything from a first person perspective, but I wasn't actually in the dream, so instead I was seeing everything from the perspective of another character, and that character was just sitting back and letting the other two argue about the map, but then she finally got up and turned it in a certain way that made everything suddenly make sense to them. Apparently, the mountain they needed to use as a reference point was actually at the bottom of the ocean, because they were looking for some kind of Atlantis that used to be above sea level but sank due to mysterious circumstances.
So in the next scene they're hiking up an underwater mountain in big bulky diving suits, which are far outdated for the time period. (I guess they were using late '90s technology, but the Diving suits were Big Daddy style with big brass helmets.) The whole time they're climbing they're exchanging witty banter that I can't remember, but I do remember the scene going on for way too long. When they get to the peak, it's just high enough that they only end up waist deep in the water. One of the characters raises the map above his head and it starts to glow, and while he's remarking about how cool it is, the other two characters have to remind him to let go of it so that it can fly up into the sky. Eventually it turns into a weird baby pig looking thing that also managed to be pretty cute, but they realize they have to take it back down the mountain and it can only breathe air, so Aubrey Plaza's character decides to take her helmet off and let the others carry the pig thing in it, while she uses an emergency oxygen tank that they hadn't mentioned at all before and go on ahead without them for some reason. The last time I had this dream it followed the other two characters with the pig thing, and I can't really remember that, but this time it followed Aubrey Plaza, and she wandered around for a while and started to run out of air before finding this Willy Wonka-esque candy factory, which was also underwater somehow, and all of the candy rivers had air at the bottom. Then suddenly she was in this Japanese style house that was full of air wearing a blue robe and talking to the others on a radio. That's the last bit I remember before I woke up.

In practice, it means I need to buy way more books/bring more books on trips/etc so it's a mixed blessing I guess.

I would be either very broke, or the local thrift stores very sparse on books (far more likely: Both.), if I didn't have the internet and fanfiction. I distinctly remember reading every sci-fi/fantasy book in the local library system... back in like 5th/6th grade. On top of everything I could manage to acquire from other sources. 100k words is somewhere in the 3-4 hour range, with distractions. Half a million or more in a week I'm being particularly frisky is... fairly normal. It doesn't slow down much when it's print or stuff more dense than pleasure reading. Just tend to re-read passages a lot with the latter, so pages covered is lower~

The fact that it still took me four weeks to finish reading Worm kinda scares me when I start recommending it to friends though.

At two hundred words a minute, that is roughly a week straight of non-stop reading. Which I think would be non-trivially capable of killing someone from sleep deprivation? See people? If you step up your game, you might be able to survive the supervillain that won't let you sleep until you read Worm from cover to cover. I would totally be that supervillain. Read or die, eeeheeeheeheeheeeee

Remember my last bit about Kanye "I Am a God" West? I heard another one of his newer songs, "New Slaves".

The main "body" of the song isn't anything out of ordinary, but the end is something truly special; that is, special in the sense of special education. It spontaneously cuts from Kanye ranting about private prisons to some other guy singing a really high-pitched part about "can't get too high", backed by violins which are apparently sampled from a 60s Hungarian rock song, ending with the actual Hungarian lyrics from that song.

I have not heard weirder song production or composition for some time.

...I like it. It's kinda groovy. Also really trippy and surreal, but that's part of the appeal.
