Was there always a 'transcript' tab on YouTube videos, or is that a new thing?

I see that the automatic captions are still just as ridiculous as ever. It has improved somewhat though.

It's been there forever, just not on all the videos. I barely see it on any video, I think the uploader has to enable it for the video. In fact, I think it's manual, you have to give it a script.

Are you sure? The one I just looked at read the same as the automatic captioning, which is to say illegible.

Then perhaps it is the same as captioning, in that you can upload a script or just tell it to try.

Regardless, pretty sure it's a manual enable thing.

3 definitely had more of a post-apocalyptic, survival feel to it.

NV had none of that. Civilization is getting back on its feet. There's a ton of references to 1 and 2, which is cool, but it doesn't *feel* like a post-apocalypse thing.

That's mostly because saying that Fallout is about a post-apocalyptic feel is like saying that The Walking Dead is about the zombies or that Call of Duty is about international politics. Sure, that's the framing device, but it's not what it's actually about, which 3 missed by a mile.

Fallout is about society rebuilding after the apocalypse, not about the apocalypse itself. The Walking Dead is about how people treat each other in a lawless society where there are always threats looming, not about the zeds. Call of Duty is about shootin' people, not the politics that allow you to do so.
