Thanks, guys. It has mostly stopped by now, so I'm okay. But considering I have to pass the medical commission to enroll into pilot academy, any pressure-related stuff could fail my ass. Therefore I was pretty freaked out.
Thing is, it was just hella sudden. The "ruptured aorta" hypothesis crossed my mind, as well as "I'm too young to die".
Is the back of your neck sore or stiff?

Back when I was a chronically-dehydrated coffee addict, turning my head too fast or suddenly contracting my shoulder  muscles would occasionally cause the muscles in the back of my neck to twinge, sending searing pain over the back of my head for a while and then making everything sore. Like a Charlie Horse. Very painful, but nothing too serious.

So.. it could be that. Always drink water, folks!

Just watched 47 ronins.
The movie itself is pretty meh, but is a suitably epic quest for honor and redemption, with treacherous villains, a witch/dragon to kill and a princess to save. All pretty standard.
Then at the end, the Shogun scold them for disobeying and says they should've been hanged like common bandits, but since they did what was right, they get a free get-out-of-jail card THE RIGHT TO F*CKING KILL THEMSELVES.

THE MOVIE END ON A COLLECTIVE SUICIDE OF ALL THE 47 HEROES

What the HELL japan?

...you do realize its very loosely based off a historical event right? They really did all die at the end, and in Japanese culture that was indeed the right thing to do.

You know, I got more pissed at the pardon for that one guy. Spoiled the whole 'honor through self-sacrifice' bit. There's a bit of a historical basis: They sent out one guy to message some other province or something, so that dude wasn't back yet when they killed themselves. When he came, he was pardoned; and after living to an age of about eighty, he died peacefully and was buried along his comrades.

With most movies from that category (big budget, geeky story, but not an instant blockbuster) the only bit I disliked was the ending: They never seem to get that right. Snowpiercer was the same - a fukken polar bear in the Himalayas! And it wasn't even necessary!

It made sense to me. The Shogun in the movie cared more about stability of his island and stopping feuds within this hyper-aggressive warrior culture. He can kill 46 of the best fighters, reducing his island's fighting capability by a bit, or let them live and reduce his control which might allow a feud to start that kills hundreds of people - including farmers, artisans, etc.

They didn't die because it was "the right thing to do", but specifically to support everyone's buy-in to the Shogun's rule and thus stability and communal welfare. Maybe the island could have been run differently, in a way that didn't involve killing off their heroes, but he was working within the constraints that he had at the time.

Oblivion quests are coming to the real world.
Put all your items over there.

Yes, over th- Oh for fuck's sakes! JUST PUT THEM DOWN!

Oh, fine. I'll try beating the shit out of you when you have a sword.
That sounds a lot like Toady's implementation of robberies in Adventure Mode.

More like, "oh god, these women are robbing me, maybe I can get away -" and as he turns to flee she hurls a handful of sand hard enough to send parts of him flying in all directions.

Hired a new girl at work. Mostly competent, unlike previous hires, but when we had her running the deli slicer, she kept her hand under the blade to catch the falling sliced meat, despite me telling her twice that was a bad idea. Probably should have told her why it was a bad idea, but it should have been obvious.

You should tell her to put down a piece of plastic wrap under her hand so when the slicer removes the top quarter inch of her flesh it won't make as much of a mess. Then make a sweeping motion with one hand against the other.

And then badger her about it by offering extremely basic safety advice such as "make sure you hold the knife by the handle and not the blade when you're cutting" and "when you ti your shoes try not to tie the laces together because you could trip."
