I'd let her annex my bed any time.

Not the pillows, though. Those are mine.

Also this is actually rather normal celebrity worship, it's just sorta unfortunate considering the context.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Well, it's a fandom about how cute she is, so talking about policy, history, qualifications, future plans, or other things wouldn't really be relevant.
The hell you say. Competency gets my motor running more than ba-dong-a-dong any day. Not that the latter hurts, mind.

That bothers me when it's applied to people who have relevance beyond celebrity in the first place. It's like there's a lecture on evolutionary biology and then when they open for questions, the first thing anyone says is, "I love what you've done with your hair". Especially when it snowballs like this, it blots out the ability to have discussion about why this person is actually important.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Well, I doubt I would have even known about her existence if not for sudden internet fame.

I wonder how often that happens to Brian Cox.

I think it's safe to say that never happened to him and that it also will never happen to him ever.

I recommend the blood of kings if you can.
How about the blood of queens? Kings are kind of hard to come by.

Well, she is a government official, so most likely reading any actual info about her would bore me to tears. She has a pretty face though, so that's cool.
I guess she could be a ridiculous superbadass like her boss, but it seems improbable to have two such superbadasses in the same government.

Are you implying that Brain Cox doesn't have a creepy fandom?
Because he totally does.
