This is photoshop-fu level of the highest rank.
At first I thought it was a run-of-the-mill parody of those Photoshop things, but then the pizzafication process began.

So, I enjoy Warhammer, and I like Dan Abnett's books the most.  Problem- The ONLY thing my local bookstore carries that is Warhammer are the Horus Heresy novels (Except for Ravenor and Baneblade), and I don't really like space marines all that much.  So I decided to order stuff online-
The Saint
Eisenhorn
So... yeah.    Several hundred dollars for a new paperback book.  I can't even find either of them in Books a Million, and the price is the same for Barnes and Nobles.   Used they are around twenty five dollars, but the last time I ordered a used book online it was missing five pages that contained some fairly important plot material.

I knew WH40K was expensive but this is something else! :P
Seriously, though, that's really weird. It is an omnibus, so that might have something to do with it.

I checked two of the other books that I already have and both are in the fifteen-twenty dollar range.   But the ones I need to read in order to avoid spoilering myself (Especially in terms of who dies and lives.   This guy kills characters off like flies), those are all the ones that are expensive.

My computer just flicked to a blue screen like it was shutting down, then flicked back to a normal desktop, except all my firefox windows were closed.

Don't you hate it when your computer starts judging you? Dammit, computer, I'll browse at 12am if I want to.

I've already checked all the bookstores within a two hour radius.   None of them have any books that are about the Imperial Guard, only space marines.    And I still can't drive by myself, so I can't go out to any places further then that which might have them.
I went ahead and took the risk of ordering them used.     Hopefully they won't miss any pages, or reek of spilled coffee.

Well, that sucks. Dan Abnett writes the best 40k fiction (the guy who writes Cain is a very close second).

... bloody hell that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a single book thingy. Fifty bucks for four books is bleeding insane, to say nothing of the madness that Amazon was proposing. For trade paperback stuff, anyway. I knew the prices were getting away from folks but damn.

I know my price instinct for books is distorted by thrift/used book stores and the last time I bought from a major bookstore chain being like in back 2000 (as in literally the year 2000, not between '00 and '10.) or something, but seriously...

I went ahead and took the risk of ordering them used. Hopefully they won't miss any pages, or reek of spilled coffee.
Could yar har it if there's missing pages, I imagine, if you consider it a viable option now that I've dropped some money on it. Pretty sure all of the gaunt's ghost stuff is floating around these days...

Hopefully they won't miss any pages

!

Now you'll be reading and an incredibly important page will not be there in the midst of an exposition. You've doomed us all!

Is Gaunt's Ghosts any good? I've always kinda wanted to read that.
