Also, five bucks says that the school would come down harder that a five ton bratwurst on any teacher who gave a student a Bible.
Nope, not true at all. German schools aren't antireligious at all, but they do have a very strict separation policy regarding religious and nonreligious stuff: Basically, schools have a set of "religion" classes alongside all other classes, and each child goes into the class of his belief (or none if no sufficiently similar class exists). In most smaller schools, the only available classes are Catholic and Protestant, but I've heard of larger schools where they have some kind of Islamic classes too.
I'd like to add that homeschooling is illegal in general, not only for religious reasons. If you think your curriculum isn't sciency enough, that's no excuse either.
Also these religion classes are mandatory if you do belong to a denomination, in most schools you can choose ethics classes instead later, but AFAIK not from the beginning of your school career. So much for anti-religious schools.

Clearly it is magical unicorn-pressed orange juice, free of evil pesticides and chemicals like citric acid and water.

Presumably it's one of those with gold flecks or something floating around in it, I'unno. Maybe it's cut with raw cocaine. Rich people OJ, is what I'm saying, sold at fancy rip-off-the-idiots-with-more-money-than-sense shops.

Or I guess inflation, sure. I think I'd rather it be orange juice laced with speed.

You can (in 'Murrica) get good steak for $1/oz.

Ah, computerized math homework and your poorly-constrained random values. I'm sure I previously mentioned the physics problem where the WWI "Big Bertha" apparently could launch shells halfway across the world.

If you've got the right ideas about how time and space works, you can be in the place of the time.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

You can get good steak for half that, too.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Bah... I've been trying to catch up on the Ukraine thread for the past few days.
I'm on page 31 of 36.  Maybe it'll balloon to 40 by the 5th if the stuff happening there keeps going on.
