OK so even without instructions I would expect at least some people to complete the worksheet in exactly the same way. That's just a shortsighted grading system.

Don't you just turn in the XLS file? I think they're mostly concerned with people just copying the XLS. If it's one of those things where you have to follow certain steps in a simulated Excel program, I feel for you. Generally those emulators suck.

I work in a lab where people do these things and can confirm that they do indeed suck.

Also, yeah, I was wondering why they would be using a plagiarism checker on something that literally gives you the answers to complete it.  The educational system (or at least your teacher) is full of mystery.

They want to automate their work as much as possible, and are willing to accept some mistakes / errors to save those man-hours. Also the vendor probably talked a big-ass game about how great his software was, and he's interested in selling as much as he can regardless of who he screws over. Colleges are among the big organizations that are frequently bad at spending - spending too much, choosing the wrong solution, underinvesting, overinvesting.

Nope. I had Progress Quest running a while back but stopped eventually. I think for an idle game to be addictive it has to involve you making input of some kind so you feel like the things that are happening are your accomplishments. I was doing this XKCD:Time idle game until it borked a save export on me and I realized I could spend months on a thing and have it pulled out from under me in an instant. That killed the enjoyment for me.

Reading FSTD:

Guess there goes my need to vacuum the floor. And here comes my need to wash my clothes from the floor dust.

Watched Mortal Kombat just now. It's strange how from time to time music seemed so insanely familiar.

Also, I have a memory from way back of seeing some promotional clips from it when it was about to come to the movies? Turns out, this was not the Mortal Kombat 1 at all. Been living a lie all those years.  :o
Guess it's time to watch Mortal Kombat 2 then.

I don't understand. What is the quote trying to say?

Also a lot of people these days are pro-zombie at least, and I'd guess at least as many are pro-vampire (depending on the vampire).

Besides, I'm pretty sure bringing the death back to live is a very biblical thing to do.

It's a part of a larger rant about TEH JOOZ, who are also apparently polytheistic. So, pretty standard otherwise than this particular line.

Ohio Woman wins wing-eating contest.

Evidently the challenge came down, as you might expect from knowing the structure of chicken wings, to her superior oral dexterity.
