Sitting in my Job Service Provider's office today (nice escape from the heat), I look at the silly posters on the wall describing various career types, what jobs are involved and what qualifications are usually required.
I see a level one job titled 'Funeral Attendant', and I had a bit of an inward chuckle imaging someone whose entire job was being hired as an extra mourner, to bulk out the attendance at an unpopular person's funeral.

Of course, after a second I realised what it actually meant, but it was amusing while it lasted. :P
I feel like I've seen someone make this observation before, but I can't remember where. Maybe it's just deja vu.

My mom decided to take my computer off of me to see what I was up to. She ended up browsing imgur for about an hour.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

No, it's about the fact that there is no load more button on my subscriptions panel.

MEANING that if I miss more than 25 videos I can't watch them.

Since I have like 100+ subscriptions, THIS IS ANNOYING.
Yeah, on the main panel. Do you see the list of the different channels you're subscribed to on the left side of your screen? Click on any of them to go to that channel, then click on the specific channel's "Videos" tab. You can load the entire upload history of that channel from there, and you can do the same for each channel you're subscribed to. The listing of your subscriptions on the left even throws up little numbers to indicate recent activity for each channel.

The base subscription panel is just a feed of recent activity. You can't view the full history of every sub you have there, which is why you need to go to a specific channel's page if you want to go farther back than the feed covers.

Yes, it sounds like his problem is that their arbitrary cutoff for "Recent activity" is too small, because they don't have functionality to load anything older than the most recent 25.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I have a bookmark to the subscriptions page. THE SUBSCRIPTIONS PAGE.

Not the recent activity bullshit, I never use that, why the hell would I?

Before, I could scroll down, and see videos far back. 100s of uploads at least. Enough to catch up from missing a few days.

Now it stops after a page or two, with no way to load any new ones.

Also, as for going to each page individually, why? WHY DO I HAVE TO DO THAT? I have 112 subscriptions, do you know how much work that is to say "Hm, well nothing I want to watch for THAT guy. NEXT."

Why would it change to limit the functionality so severely? WHY.

I don't understand?

Maybe it's just because secular services have always been so big in the US, but this doesn't seem very onion-y to me? I mean, there are entire atheistic religions, and the Unitarian Universalists have always been secular (not explicitly atheist, but they welcome atheists and a large portion of their membership is atheist)

Are the Unitarians not a thing in your country? Or are they just significantly more theistic?

The atheistic religions thing is not us-specific at all and they do often enough still have some analogue to services.
