Fun stuff: birds can't move their eyes in their orbit like mammals do, so if they move their heads it all gets blurry for them as they can't focus. Therefore, they keep their heads as steady as possible at all times to keep their vision clear.

I read a campaign journal by a GM who read tarot cards to determine what happened in a game he was running. That seemed like a cool idea. Fast forward to today...

I bought a beginner's tarot set. I bypassed the one that mentioned Thoth in an attempt to lessen the amount of crazy that I will be exposed to. Crack open the manual and I see the author talking about programming a piece of quartz crystal to my specific energy field and then sleeping with my tarot deck under my pillow for at least two nights to synchronize our energies. So much for limiting my exposure to crazy.

It's a minor WTF, but the grays in this video: http://youtu.be/KnNqOdYcOtU (around 21:30 minutes in) look SO GOD DAMN MUCH like the Asgard from Stargate.

Except one is a game from 1996, and the other weren't developed as a concept until September 1997, and the actual body wasn't revealed until July 1998

I was driving by and noticed someone had parked their Batmobile out the front of their house, on their driveway.


The fact that Blender doesnt have the ability to mirror an animation (e.g. a strafing left to strafing right animation) is going to make my brain explode. Whyyyyyyy? It seems like it would be an unbelievably useful and popular (and relatively straight-forward to implement) feature. Infact, it seems almost vital to character animation. I keep thinking "There has to be something I've missed", but I cant find anything (except a third person plugin which doesn't work).

It's not all about that. One of the better ideas is "what traits do humans have that might be overpowered or rare compared to the universal norms of sapient life"? Since we don't have any way of knowing that it's all speculation, but there is most likely something exceptional about humanity.

Problem is is that all the HFY stuff then fails to give the aliens any advantages over the humans whatsoever. It's like having Game of Thrones where everyone but the Lannisters are dumb as Ned Stark, it's inherently dissatisfying because there's no challenge for the victors.

And I just found out its John W. Campbell's fault that HFY exists.

I figure that HFY may be slightly better then Merrica Fuck Yea and other such lesser iterations.  Cause it might just mean Human unity.
