That time is long past, my friend. My ex got called a whole lot worse than all of that when it was revealed that she couldn't produce enough to feed my munchkin. According to my mom, it's been that way since the 90s.

Probably not, but 'fascist' is ideologically neutral - a socialist can very well be a fascist, and vice versa.

That's not true of Nazis, though.

There's probably a moment in every such person's life when their kids start calling them fascists and they think, perhaps, "Maybe my verbal garbage is a problem and solving it would improve me as a person." More likely they would think, "Dumb kids."
