I only have a problem with dialogue in 1st person. All the 'I say/saids' just feel awkward. Otherwise, though, I have no problem with it. Writing in 1st person is nicely different if you're used to 3rd, too.

2nd person writing, though...

So, very recently I learned of a band quite similar to another one I happen to like, and after checking them out I literally yesterday downloaded one of their more well-known song.

But still, as far as bands that were big in the Seventies, this one faded into obscurity for the most part.

First person is the best for Unreliable Narrators, though. There's nothing quite like the creeping realization that the person who's eyes you've been looking through for the entire story is, hey, actually not just a you-proxy, is also not really stable, and is quite possibly a danger to everyone around them.

There exists literally a sequence of failed pyramids leading up to the successful ones. They didn't haul the rocks, they understood mechanics. Levers. Professional masons and architects were at work; modern engineering has since then accomplished so much more. Strange coicidence, one of my cats brought me a mouse this morning.

Not a dead mouse, mind you, a very live mouse which bore no signs of injury but was literally petrified with fear. I took it outside and put it on the ground, then it scampered off.
