Fuck yeah! 'Murrica!

Thankfully, from what I know, over here police aren't like that. Yes, you get bad apples and the system's not perfect, but the police don't seem to actively fuck you over at any and every opportunity.

EDIT: moments like this remind me of that policeman in America that pulled someone over for speeding, got them out of the car, and, when they put their hands on the top of the car, the policeman tased them. Then tased them again. And did so several times until the person was simply running to get away from them, which he took as resisting arrest, so he tased them a few more times.

IIRC, the policeman was only fired. Nothing else.

I just found out there are some antiviruses that, when they expire, will lock down your browser in order to try and get you to renew.

How is this not illegal? Bribes?
Examples? Most of those are rogue AVs.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Honestly, the first thought that comes up is Norton and Mcafee, which is probably incorrect.  I delete em immediately when I mess with any new computers and replace em.  I have such a low opinion about em.

Solars are seriously, incredibly, EXTREMELY Good. Like, horrifyingly so. Blue and Orange Morality good. We'd be better off getting a few Planetars down here, or the Solars would murder EVERYONE who EVER broke ANY LAW EVER. Speeding? You are evil and need to die. Murder? You are evil and need to die. Remove the sticker from your mattress? YOU ARE EVIL AND NEED TO DIE.

Neutral Good Angels > Lawful Good Angels. Even though the LG ones get Slaying Arrows of any type at all times, and are like a foot and a half taller than the seven foot tall NG angels.

I've found that most antiviruses have comparable effects on computer performance, lockups and nagware aside, to the viruses they are nominally intended to stop.

Honestly, some antiviruses are so similar to viruses in operation, intent, and effects on the computer that it becomes a matter of self-identification as good guy/bad guy. Gray morality abounds.

Also, speaking of police being arrest-happy wackos, I took a criminal law class a while back that basically ended up being a "This is how to avoid getting arrested by corrupt cops" class. Particularly good information for a "diverse" school like my own, where a large portion of the student body suffers from what I like call dermatochromatic-origin elevated probability of criminal suspicion.*

*Translation: Cops are racist

Besides, it's always funny when your antiviruses (yup, plural) start quarantining each other.

AV's are benign, tough. They don't do unexpected shit like pop up random messages or crash your computer or gather data on you or redirect your webpages. They can be uninstalled, etc etc. This is not counting shitty AV's like Norton and McAffee.

Then there's the inactive scanners EVERYONE should have laying around (MBAM, SUPERAntiSpyware, etc) which completely invalidate the argument by virtue of doing nothing but scan for virusses, only when you want them to.

Actually, I upgraded to MBAM premium (one-time payment of like $20, it stays updated forever). Between that and the Windows security program (whatever it's called; it's installed by default on Win8) I don't have any problems.
