If your definition is something like "believes that violence is the answer" or "approves of the use of violence as a countermeasure to things that are not inherently violent", then you'll find that fuck no, that's a rare and extremist viewpoint
Can I please live in your world?
Because... frankly I prefer it to the real one XD
Yeah, I'd be curious to know what question was being asked to get that answer
It is actually a very basic answer. If someone insults your family and won't get out of your face, should you punch them?
Sometimes do you just have to fight for your own dignity?
it is actually not as "Rare and extreme" as it seems. Heck often what is told about violence isn't that "it isn't deserved" but rather that "It cannot be controlled".
Polls on stuff like that are quite often biased and incapable of provide an accurate view of what people actually think
I like to put it another way.
The Polls are usually accurate, the conclusions are biased.
When MegmaMcFry pictured the question "Is violence warented in a non-violent situation" he pictured it in the most extreme way possible.
To admit, I intentionally left that open to misinterpretation, mostly because it proves the point.
If your definition is "occasionally enjoys a show that happens to include someone getting hurt", then yes, most countries are "obsessed with violence", although this definition doesn't really relate to its name anymore
Likewise this is interpreting what I said in the weakest possible form. "Occasionally"? how about constantly.
We are constantly thinking about, watching, acting in, and preparing for violence.
We watch more violence in our daily lives than the Romans did (no really).
the USA just so happens to have a lot of extremists
Yeah the USA isn't as "Backwards" as it would seem if you honestly look at countries with impartial eyes. They are not an extreme violent culture.
