It gets even more stupid when one considers that one point of the story is that Jesus is such a swell guy because he turned it into high-quality wine instead of watered-down filler wine, even though the guests were so inebriated from a week of partying that they probably couldn't have discerned the difference.

I know that the Church of Scotland, going by my meager experiences, doesn't give real wine at communion, just ribena. We have nothing like a "dry county" though, that's just mad.
