In Korea, you don't need to worry about deer ticks. It's the deer you need to look out for.

This reminds me of a story.
See, my grandpa used to go hunting, and my mom told me when she was little, my grandpa killed a deer only to find out it had been protecting a baby deer. He gave the baby to my mom, who cared for it when it grew. One day, my uncle (whom the deer didn't know) went to feed it. Let's just say the antler came in through one side of his arm and came out the other side.

Luckily he healed.

My understanding of deer stalking is that you always shoot the baby first then the mother.

Maybe it's just where I grew up, but doe tags were much more plentiful than buck tags. You could also claim anything as a doe as long as its antlers were shorter than a certain length, anatomy be damned. If your intention was to acquire a nice rack in addition to lots of meat, it was in your best interest to claim any wimpy buck you shot as a doe.

Just pull them by the head, without applying anything else to make it easier. Sure, pulling them will be harder, but living with boreliosis is harder than living without it too.

Yeah, this. Just pinch it as close to your skin as you can and pull. Bend upwards if needed. It comes off like nothing. I've had probably hundreds of ticks in my life and it's never failed me.

Whenever I've done that, the head was still stuck in the skin. And given how creepy and f****d up bugs are, they have a tendency to keep moving for quite a while after they have been cut into pieces. That head can burrow deeper.

If you're only pinching the head, it won't stay in. If you are also holding the body, that will give first, and the head will stay.

Some tweezers end in little blades or at least points that are sharp enough to cut. They are very useful for certain things.
