'Hurricane Xanatalos- I mean Xavier is here!'

Yes. I read Xavier as Xanatalos. Seems I'm being brainwashed :P

Did, the Forum break through some arbitrary real-life population limit and we're now being sieged by Spambots? Because that would make a lot of sense.

I don't see how an IRA/Taliban combatant killing a British soldier is a murderer while a British soldier killing an IRA/Taliban combatant is just doing his job. I understand if we're going by "lawful killing vs unlawful killing" here, but it seems like something is off here especially when the word "murderer" is so emotionally charged.

Eh, Typical government logic. Our army is the Good Guys, everyone they fight are Bad Guys. Therefore we can justify our guys killing them as Good and Proper, when they kill us it is obviously Bad and Immoral.

More likely it is the old "Eliminate the political angle of their campaign by treating them as common thugs." routine.

This. Plus the whole stupid idea that most people have that makes them think that people don't die in war, civilians OR soldiers.

My boss wants to talk to me. For most people, that's not a big deal, but my boss is two hours away. He wasn't mad at me for missing an assignment, which I promptly made up. He was actually concerned that I hadn't been paid for it yet. The day after he talks to me, he goes on vacation. He's expressed regret that he can't hire me full time, and knows that I'm looking for employment elsewhere, but I don't believe that any full time positions just suddenly materialized.

WTF does he want to talk to me about?

Edit: word choice.

WTF does he want to talk to me about?

Think it's possible he feels mentor-like to you, and is frustrated that he can't do better for you and is trying to tell you that you're worth better than he can give?

Depending on how hirable he thinks you are (given he knows you're looking for work elsewhere), and on how long his vacation is, could he think this is maybe the last time he'll see you?

This. It's just beautiful.

Also, another wtf that needs a backstory:
My little sister (the smallest one) just had her birthday and, as it just came out where I lived, we watched cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2. Around halfway through the movie, I had a breakthrough of immense proportions:

Well. That was amusing. Telemarketer trying to sell some kind of bupkis vehicle protection nonsense. Asked if my car was a '02 or later. Told 'em it was a '95 model. I don't believe I've ever had one of those folks hang up that quickly before.

One of the towns on the way to work has a bunch of scarecrows put up. For some odd reason, many of them have large, prominent breasts.

I also noticed that the name of Lexaus from Kingdom Hearts is an anagram of "sexual". I don't know why my brain does this.

They are still making Fairly Odd Parents, something about that is just weird, I was for some reason reading up on the show, ready to post in the sad thread my weird thing about how I feel when narratives finish and then I realise that it hasn't ended yet, surely there's no one watching it... Right?
They're still making it? Isn't Timmy a bit old for fairy godparents? I think there was supposed to be an age limit for that sort of thing.

Come, now. We all know most cartoon characters don't age. The show is still good, btw.

Oh, jesus, their names are all canonically anagrams, too. I mean, normally an X gets inserted, but what if they already had one?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

The live-action movie had him as a thirty year old dude who was "still a kid inside", was still in (5th?) grade-school, and had his fairies still.

I've never seen it, because Jesus Christ that is horrifying and sounds like the beginnings to a paedophilia erotica.
