I got stung by a bee. On the finger.

Now, from my understanding, bees usually don't sting unless you a) wreck up their hives or b) crush them, which means you, not the bee, are applying the skin-breaking force. And that's where the WTF comes in. I did neither of those things. It just sort of brushed against my finger while I was moving my hand and stung me. And then flew away and curled up and died, like bees do.

At least my suffering removed one more bee from the Earth.

It might have been a sting made on mistake.

Maybe the bee was a defect? There's a lot of those things. Eventually you are gonna get one with a hair trigger.

And it's not like they breed so any defect that comes from the queen and manifests in the workers is not gonna affect her survival unless it affects enough bees to affect her.

So a defect could thrive in a subset of a population. Though the energy wasted in making these bees that then run off and go die means that it would be a very -small- subset.

... Bees are a highly important part of the ecosystem, and if they all died, you would starve to death. I am highly allergic to bees, but I do not go out of my way to wish them ill, because they serve a very important purpose. That said, fuck wasps, they should all go die in a fire, alongside mosquitoes and fleas.

Depends on your local environment and population demographics, and the nature of the apocalypse. If there are sturdy, easily-defended structures on hand, little immediate danger from the cause of your apocalypse, and either low population density or continued rule of law, you should probably stay. Otherwise, you should try to find somewhere where you have those. Natural resources are also a crucial factor - no good staying put if you'll starve. Remember to reevaluate your local resources in light of your apocalypse.
