Without going hands-on with the hardware, I can't say whether it will work or not. However, it is quite clear that a lot of good engineering and planning (I particularly like the concept of extensive tactile feedback) went into the new controller. From the link, the only qualm I have with the concept is the idea of using the trackpads as speakers. Speakers tend not to sound so good when you're touching them. The article calls this out as a gimmick, though.

The actual Steam Universe thing says that it's a 'trick' rather than a useful feature though.

Valve basically designed the trackpads like microphones, they register changes in the electromagnetic field caused by pressing on the trackpads, and since Valve designed the trackpads to provide tactile feedback too, there is obviously a built-in way to change the electromagnetic field to move the membrane, which can then be (ab)used to produce sounds. The trackpad design is pretty brilliant IMO.

One thing that immediately came to mind would be, in FPSes, using a trackpad click as a reload button, and having it produce the reload action sounds in tandem with your speakers.

So I was looking at the controllers and someone made a comment about the trackpads making them feel uneasy about using the controller. Then I thought that sounded familiar and dug around in my memory for it. I know exactly where from now.

Friends? I have my mother and my grandmother on Facebook. That's the whole of my contacts on said website. I had friends on there once but they ended up hacking my account and making me look like a gay pornstar. Now I use my current Facebook for family and maybe someday people I know in real life.

I don't even use the news feed thing anymore. Most of my friends stopped as well. It's just a more useful form of (social) email/chat. FB groups are also really useful.

Really the only good thing about FB is that everyone has an account and can easily be found.
