Let me tell you a little story. I have been trying to help a woman for the last five years to get free of the bondage and victimization that began when she was a child. Apparently, if you look at a blank, blue surface (or the sky on a clear day), you can see little white dots. Which are, apparently, the white blood cells going over your retina.

Not sure if this is related, but once I stared fixedly at a point between my eyes in a mirror.
If I focused my eyes on that one patch of skin but focused my mind on the rest of my face, weird shit happened- first my vision blurred a little and the image turned a bright colour, then it darkened down again causing my face to look like a skull, with empty eyesockets and nasal cavity.
It was pretty creepy/awesome, but I couldn't keep it up for long since it required total concentration or the illusion would break. Probably only worked in certain lighting, too.
