How does someone accidentally make a giant reflector that melts cars? This was completely on purpose. You watch, it'll like, I don't know, activate a underground temple or something. Or maybe it's for sacrificing people.

Consider that the Architect is the same one who designed the Vdara in Los Vegas... It very well could be intentional.

I remember hearing of a similar story years ago. Hell, it might not even be that one. You'd think the world's engineers and architects would have learned that this is a bad idea by now.

I remember hearing of a similar story years ago. Hell, it might not even be that one. You'd think the world's engineers and architects would have learned that this is a bad idea by now.

That would be the SAME architect in both cases by the way.

On a side note, it's not only cars that are melting.  Restaurants on the other side of the street are having problems with smoke coming out of the carpet, and chairs.

Plus side, you can now cook eggs on the sidewalk.

I have a friend who went to London recently and saw that. Apparently walking into the area where the sunlight was more focused was like stepping into Egypt.

People should organize a protest, and do so by setting up beach chairs, wearing swimsuits, and tanning in the reflected light area.

Alternatively, by setting up a solar-powered hot-dog stand.

EDIT: By protest, of course, I mean encouraging the construction crew to find some kind of light-scattering material coating to put on the windows, and alleviate the Achimedes Mirror effect.
