It's a step in the right direction. If we're going to solve world hunger we've got to utilize algae and perhaps later down the road phytoplankton and krill as food resources. Some greater investment into soy farming and soy byproducts would help in some areas as well but not as much since soy leads to an overall increase in estrogen in the body, which could result in increased chances of developing some kind of cancer. Then again you kind of get the same thing from being overweight so it's only really going to hurt if you are overweight and eating soy products.

No, not really. Hunger elimination is currently a matter of distribution and efficiency. Physical food production currently exceeds what is necessary to give the total population sufficient nutrition.
