You'd think so, but you might be wrong.

Remember that soap and better disinfectants are a relatively new invention.  Go back a bit more than a hundred years, and people had no idea that one should attempt to keep blood and filth from one source from touching any other surface... Heck, doctors used to go straight from ungloved autopsies (gloves?  as in sterile one use?  Didn't exist yet, nor any idea why one would want to have them) of cadavers which had died from any condition, directly to women in childbirth.  Heck, the survival rates used to be better for women who gave birth alone then they were for women who went to the hospitals.


So, you've got the people who may have made loinclothes and bedding from gorilla fur, and the people who simply caught, killed, butchered, or even ate gorilla (they didn't really clean corpses or food either at one time) all of whom might soon have scratched, or just not disturbed the parasites that transfered to them long enough for people to become a new home.

Yeah, but that is a tad extreme. At least it didn't say "This is a subversive program that installed itself, for which I will remove."


That makes me think about a actual subversive virus, possibly Ransomware that forces you to read a manifesto and answer questions on it before you can continue on your day.

Ordered textbook online. Came in today (well, all of them did, one of them several days before predicted arrival, but... whatever). Opened box and...

... well, there was the book, yes. There was also chewing gum, command strips, an advertisement for Hulu, and... a canned energy drink. I guess I'm not exactly complaining (the strips might end up useful, and the box itself is far larger than needed for the book, so can maybe be put to use), but... I ordered a book. Not... all this other stuff. Most of which I have no interest in or use for.

Advertising is apparently a hell of a drug.

I just... I wasn't expecting to pull a canned drink and bubblegum out of the book's shipping box. Or anything but the book and maybe some padding or whatever, really.
