I just saw Starship Troopers the movie.
Wow they're totally not idiots ruled by a fascist government.
What would give you that impression?
Apart from the numerous references to the Nazis, particularly in costumes, live executions, soldiers handing out guns and bullets to children, mandatory classes where the teacher tells you about how democracy failed and war veterans overthrew the government and created a society where you only get the right to vote if you serve in the military, the media under reporting the massive casualties they suffer, the war against the bugs being clearly an expansionistic thing, destroying one of their own cities with an asteroid to incite military fervor (because there is no way that the bugs, no matter how smart, could shoot an asteroid out of orbit in their own star system halfway across the galaxy with enough accuracy to hit Earth), child soldiers, trying to Zerg rush the Zerg equivalents, not much really.
I haven't read it in a while, okay?
Oh, I didn't mean the book. Sorry about that; didn't mean to seem aggressive. It was the movie I was talking about.
Also, the director and screenwriter have a time machine. I'm convinced. The movie came out in what, 1997? Look how accurately it portrays the whole 9/11 situation. It's scary.
The only thing I remember from the book of the things you mentioned was mandatory classes on how Democracy where everyone could vote failed terribly. Haven't seen the movie.

The original author of Starship Troopers maintained that he thought the society portrayed was ultimately a good idea, a "military democracy". Mind you, this was one of his least strange opinions.

Ah, Robert Heinlein. You wrote the book over fury that the US tried to cooperate with the USSR or something, and the crazy still shines on.

Essentially: The movie was satire, the book not so much. But they were also about different things, so...

Does it help if they yell when they talk to each other?

Ahh, summer.  Birds, Bikinis, and drunk people getting mugged outside my house after pathetically attempting to intimidate me out of this very phone.  Kinda serves him right, but I still felt bad for not helping.
Yes it truly is a wonderful season isn't it? Although i get birds, annoying gangstas outside all night, and it's too damn hot in here. Still could be worse though.

So you walk around in a kevlar vest and complain about heat . . .all the people I knew wore one usually did naughtybadthings
I can't come up with an actual reason that i wear the vest other than i have that vest and it's not going to sit around gathering dust. At the very least doing push-ups with it on is good exercise.

A 16-17th century ruler on a horse if history doesn't fail me. He appeared to stare into the distance, as if looking into the future or overseeing forces or somesuch. It's out of bronze (or it seems to be) if it helps, may I ask why it interests you? :3

Wondering why the bear might be upset at it. I got nothing.
Though statues are also pretty interesting. Usually more than "modern art" (aka minimalism) paintings; so maybe the bear just had an appreciation for finely crafted statues.

The bear was offended at the statue showing a human heroically and the complete lack of representation of the bear species. But nobody can understand him.

A tsundere bear trying to topple a statue, not that it likes it or anything. That's a keeper, though it's probably been taken away by now ;-;
