That was a midrange amount. Usually we wouldn't be very busy and I'd make maybe 30. I think one week I had to do a lot of late-night deliveries (they paid more) and I made closer to 150.

...I get $19-something an hour as a supermarket checkout chump; granted, it's Australian money, and we're currently a little bit lower, and it doesn't go as far as the same amount in America, but Christ almighty there is a good chance that I was being paid more than a lawyer in a capital case.

(that is a casual rate that translates sick leave etc. into bonus pay (to the tune of 20% I think), though, and I tend to get at the very most 15 hours a week, so eh.

Did I mention appointed counsel (more or less public defenders, sorta) are self employed (pay more taxes) have absolutely no benefits, retirement packages, or sanity after dealing with the drek of society like a man who murdered 11 women while beinf viewed as a villain yourself...? Also the state doesn't pay for professional licensing, mandatory continuing legal education courses (which you get suspended or disbarred for not taking), professional insurance, vacation (ha, what's that?), sick leave, or really anything like they do for the prosecution? Also they don't pay for staff or support or secretaries or anything like they do for the prosecution, who by the way has the police department essentially at their beck and call in many places?

The text on the cover are the names of the Great Houses of the Chimer/Dunmer. The ones which players could join were House Redoran (Law, military power, tradition, and the warrior code), House Telvanni (Ambition, trechery, magic, and research), and House Hlaluu (Diplomats, merchants, and opportunists).

The others from the lore were House Dres (Xenophobic, anti-Imperial Dark Elves, with ties to agriculture and the slave trade), House Indoril (Conservative Dark Elf Nationalists, closely connected with the Tribunal Temple, and the one Nerevar Indoril came from), and House Dagoth (The lost house, headed by god-king Voryn Dagoth, AKA Dagoth Ur, and destroyed for their betrayal long ago).
