I think I came up with the perfect definition of Parody Cake.

Parody Cake: A Parody Cake is a parody that uses the material it is parodying with the same intent of the original.

Does that make sense to anyone?

Hmm nevermind it doesn't really fit all the cakes there are.

Sounds like an homage to me. Or maybe a remake.

A Parody cake is still a parody.

Think of it like you made a Parody of Advertisements that show up in movies. So in your movie you have the exact same sequence happen but over the top. Yet this was a paid for advertisement so you got full endorsement for that parody.

Essentially you parodied advertisements while also benefiting from those very advertisements within the parody.

That is a Parody Cake.

It is using the material you are parodying for its intended purpose.

I guess another term for it would be: Disingenuous Parody

Three years and people still think this is serious. Or maybe I'm just falling for Poe's Law.

I got woken up by my house shaking this morning. Kinda scary, even if it wasnt exactly a large one, which I have been in before while on holiday.

3.8? Ptah. I live in New Zealand, where earthquakes that size get a brief mention on the news if they're lucky. After half your city was destroyed, little things like that don't really get to you.

Yea, after being in one in Greece that was about 8 on the scale, this was small beans. Still, being woken by your house shaking is still a bit "Huh?"

I've only been in a single small one.  Felt like a truck rammed the building, and that's what I actually thought had happened for a couple minutes.  Just one big crash and that was it.

Worst I think we ever got in Australia was 6.3 in 1989. Down south where I am, the worst I've experienced was a 4.0. House shook for a good minute, but no damage to modern houses. A lot of older ones were slightly damaged.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This is so dumb and counter intuitive. After waiting for five minutes, pressing the button facing the direction I needed to cross several times, (and missing my bus, as well) I finally noticed the arrows on the signs. What kind of asshole does that?
And by the way, that layout is completely inconsistent with every other light on that street. This one just decided it wanted to be a dick and switch the buttons around.
