Ehn. It's been annoying when I've tried it so far, and it does involve more maintenance/greater mess. The price differential irks, though, yeah.
How can you get grating cheese that wrong that you're creating a significant amount of mess? Are you trying to grate the cheese as if you're knapping a piece of flint or something?

On topic with the thread, I think I just created my favourite mental image of the day.

Where did I say significant? It's still not bad, per se, just more thereof. A nuisance, not a hygiene issue :P

And there's still keeping the grater itself in good order. More effort, bleh.

... probably not enough to justify the price difference, but... still.

I'm wtfing all over the place.

I agree with her sentiment, but trying to express it in only 30 seconds left her open to lots of misinterpretation.  "THEY'RE SAYING OUR CHILDREN BELONG TO THE STATE" is an incredibly reactionary example.

Essentially what she's saying has nothing to do with undermining parenting rights.  It's criticizing people who reject the notion of having any responsibility for other people's children.  One of the most pertinent examples is there are a surprising number of people today who believe education should receive tax funding.  The argument goes that not everyone who pays taxes has children, so their money is being spent on something that doesn't benefit them and that's wrong.  The counter is that you still have to live on the same planet as those children, so it's in your best interest for them to grow up to be competent and well-adjusted adults.  That's just one example that is heavily debated these days.  The fact is parents and their children need a lot of support.  Parents require more money and time away from work than non-parents to properly raise their kids, and kids need good schools and various other programs.  This stuff comes from the community, which is why people need to see children as everyone's responsibility and not just the parents.
Very well stated.

I think it might have been.
On the news this morning the newsreader said it something like three times, over the course of around ten minutes. He either was reading it off a script and didn't notice, or thought it was hilarious and kept going with it.

According to the news everybody loves her.
Also apparently my parents think she was pretty great. I don't think I'll talk to them about politics anymore.

The issue is that if you want to Grate cheese there is no automatic cheese grater that does a sufficient job.

Admittingly if you just want a LITTLE cheese it is fine... if you want to top nachos then you have to do it by hand.
