You gotta be careful with Vice. They'll bring you news you won't get from anybody (and I do mean anybody) else, but they've also got a flirtatious relationship with exaggerated bullshit and hype. Shane is by far the most solid of their reporters though, the North Korea story is more than enough proof of that.

I noticed that. Their Youtube channel is a hell of a lot better than their website though. Sometimes they attempt satire and fail so, so badly.

South America has it much, much worse.  U.S. corporations trample people with impunity down there.  Power privilege won by the Dirty Wars.  It was reported last year that environmental activists in South America are murdered at the rate of about 1/week, as the last untouched wildernesses and indigenous tribes are being ravaged.
