Just watched The City Of Lost Children. A french movie which is has WTF written all over it. Tough I managed to get through and actually enjoyed it.

The local library has a lot of books. A lot of those are ones I'd love to read. Shame that most of them are sequels to books that the library doesn't have. And I hate starting in the middle of a series because they will almost always reference things that happened in earlier books.

Pretty much any library has some sort of order system, where you can request books from other branches or even different library systems. Consult your librarian for detail.s

Random phone call a few nights ago from a man who threatened me with a gun a couple years ago.

"Hey, um, It's [name]. I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I was the guy who came to [firm I worked at for old lawyer] with the gun about [redacted]. Yeah, I shouldn'ta done that and I'm sorry. You're probably the reason I wasn't in (jail) way longer. Read about you in the paper.... Anyhow, I feel like shit and I'm sorry and I won't bug you no more. Uh... bye I guess." [dial tone]



And then I sat there clinching the phone shaking for a while. I've more or less been directly threatened 20 times so far in my job and 8 of those had weapons. It doesn't get easier. This is a first though.

Haven't you heard? Everybody in prison is innocent and just got sold down the river by their lawyer. All of 'em....

Yeah, it was that jury trial thing I did with the cameras, and yeah I was. I mostly remember hating those cameras being there. Can't remember if I posted about it here. Probably did. I dunno.

Now think about this.  It's really, really difficult for most people to contact someone they barely know out of the blue about an incident years past, just to awkwardly swallow their pride.  Think about how many others have thought about it, and just didn't have the guts.
