How 'bout we try milking cows the way we milk snakes?

By ramming thier udders into a suction funnel? Isnt that what we do anyway?

One day ol' Bessie's gonna turn on those viper genes, and there will be hell to pay.

OTOH, I've heard of milking a snake, but I don't think that's how its supposed to work.

Basically you force the snake to bite onto a container or funnel of some design.

That is the most simple way to explain it.
Pretty sure he was just making a joke. Now, imagine milking a snake the way one does a cow.

Although we're increasingly finding that a lot of genes that were thought to be "just filler" have purposes we didn't realise because they were activated so infrequently.

I wish we had more filler DNA, it'd let us live longer.

You're think of telomeres, not filler Dna. There's a slight difference.

Oh, and btw, we're working on solving that particular bug.

On another note, did you know that there's a kind of worm that can survive being cut in 16 parts. Having 30% of it's cells be stemcells probably helps. (Currently looking into it's genes for the telomere thingy)

They do that all the time. It is pretty much to be expected to happen once a week or two.

The evidence linking any change in telomere length having a result on aging is... sketchy, at best. Most research seems to indicate coincidence or weak correlation rather than any sort of cause and effect relationship, last I heard.

Computer problems.  I updated my Emerge Desktop to fix an issue I've been having with it.  Successfully fixed that minor, but annoying issue.  Launched Chrome, which then notified my that something called Yontoo attached itself as an extension without my permission.  It was automatically disabled.  Ok.  Web pages aren't displaying now.  They're loading.  I can click on links and stuff.  Can't see anything.  I try re-enabling and uninstalling Yontoo, and neither helps.  I look it up, and apparently some people have issues with Chrome on Emerge Desktop.  So now I'm trying a Chrome offshoot called SRWare Iron.  Works just fine.  Except Yontoo is installed on it.  grumble grumble....
