So Croatia is on it's inevitable path to get into the EU, fine and dandy for all I care, I'm only here for the education. But, there's still the fact that most politicians here are terribly terrible at english which could make certain things hard or awkwardly painful to watch, it just never ceases to amaze me just how much they suck at it.

They got stereotyped that way after just a couple singles on those themes and seem to have embraced it more and more over time.  So easily do people forget songs like Leader of Men, Never Again, or Too Bad.  And I think a couple of their sex/drugs/rock themed songs are actually rather well-written and seem to me like more of a blunt, honest depiction that isn't meant to be glorifying.

They're not one of my favorite bands or anything, but I think they got somewhat unfairly type-casted.

That's pretty much it. I mean, if you look on that video the only chord on there that isn't a power chord is the Dm and they play it through half the song. It sounds like most Nickelback songs I've heard just with a bit more distortion. And that solo wasn't really all that difficult. It was fast, but once you slow it down there's nothing too challenging about it.

I'm not gonna sit here and bash Nickelback though, there are a lot of bands whose bread-and-butter is power chords and a lot of people like it, so there must be something to it. I just don't find them that interesting. Disregard my opinion completely though since I don't really listen to rock music in general.

There have been so many songs about sex, drugs, and rock and roll that there's a band that i think has gone mainstream writing some actually quite good songs about how shit they are. He also talked about consumerism, but I'll take that on notice until i see what happens when the cheques roll in. It annoys me that liberals who talk about the 99& never seem to complain about the opulence of bands like nickelback.
