I'm the bomb at reading aloud in class. If there was a non-lame career you could make out of that, I'd be on my way to it.

Reading aloud in class was the worst.

I kind of liked reading aloud in class. I was one of the ones that were better at it though.

Reading aloud is fun if it's something like Shakespeare that was meant to be read aloud and sounds good. I never liked reading stuff like The Most Dangerous Game though cause it's hard to read something like that and sound interesting.

No using. That's not what freedom is for.

For every person that claims Shakespeare is difficult to parse, I offer this line:

"What, how dost thou, man? What is the matter with thee?"

"What, how dost thou, man? What is the matter with thee?"

Let me shorten that to get rid of the extra stuff

"What man? What is the matter?"

How... Elloquent.

For everyone who claims Shakespeare is easy to parse, I offer this word: wherefore.

What do you think it means? You're probably wrong. Your English teacher was also probably wrong.

From the contexts I've seen it in I'll guess at something similar to "why".

I was under the impression the definition was 'For what reason' but I guess 'why' also works well.

That's more or less what I always read it as. Literally "Where is the reason for this?".

99% of the time I've seen it read, people just assume it means "where".

Given that the very first time people see this... it pretty much is being used as the word "Where"

Clearly you need to watch more terrible productions of Romeo and Juliet

The first time most people see this is probably 'wherefore art thou Romeo', and in the full version it's followed by Juliet bitching about how if his name was anything else they could be together. Pretty clearly a 'why' in that context.
