Was in the middle of a wiki-crawl when I came across this:

According to a document, the Iranki, when Nobunaga was inspecting Iga province — which his army had devastated — a group of three ninja shot at him with large-caliber firearms. The shots flew wide of Nobunaga, however, and instead killed seven of his surrounding companions.

It was sourced to a published work, so I'm assuming that the research is accurate. In which case, I hope that the ninja were carrying multiple guns each, otherwise I'd have to wonder how they managed to kill seven people with three shots from 1570s-standard man-portable firearms. 

They weren't standard, they were actually closer to cannons. Needed to be to have a chance at taking out Nobunaga!

I'm imagining a cross between a sawed off and a rpg.

Windows 8 has managed to fuck up notepad to the point where it is no longer usable for plaintext editing. It makes "helpful" formatting changes for you, utterly mangling any plaintext document you save while using this.

Let this set in for a moment.

Windows 8 has failed to correctly implement a basic text editor they already perfected a dozen years ago.

This is what we have come to.

I have a Windows 8 related gripe too. Well, not exactly Windows 8 related. Basically, I came to acquire a rather new small laptop recently. It's extremely crappy, and is the slowest piece of shit ever. Windows 8 runs very slowly on it, and it came pre-installed. I decided I'd install a Linux Distro on it, and I spent awhile downloading it and installing it onto the computer. When I try to boot up the different operating system, it doesn't work. I do a bit of research, and it turns out that newer laptops of that model have a certain option turned on that fucks up any other different operating systems besides windows 8. You can apparently turn it off, but some models don't even give you the option to turn it off. Guess which kind of model I have?

So basically I have a piece of shit laptop that has Windows 8 running on it, and I can't install a different OS onto it.

Considering Notepad is basically identical to the Windows 3.x notepad (but rebuilt for bigger memory models) it's more like 25 years old.
