The first one is her escape from a laboratory that kept her chained to a wall, and subjected to torturous experiments because of her mutation. The second one, if it's the scene I think it was, was her battle against another mutant that attempted to force her to return to that facility. The former two were flashbacks to here childhood, where she (after long-term abuse and bullying), snapped after the only person she trusted told her tormenters about the puppy she befriended, which resulted in them torturing it to death in front of her. The last one is an act for which she later begs to be killed for. It's also heavily implied that her kind of mutant is hardwired to kill humans, although it's not made clear in the anime if this is true or simply a result of the torturous experiments.

I don't believe it was ever canon in the anime, though it might have been in the manga. Been a long time in either case. Anyhow, I think that both the Nyuu personality and Nana are proof that it isn't inherent. Nana isn't inherently hostile to all humans (and indeed actively tries to not kill people), likely because Kurama treated her (somewhat) like a human being. Kaede isn't inherently malicious, but is rather a person who has had an incredibly traumatic life. IIRC there is some implication of a Diclonius instinct that trends towards violence, but it's hardly a compulsion. After all, it only manifested in Kaede when (as a young child) her best friend betrayed her trust, leading to a group of other children forcing her to watch as they beat her puppy to death. Indeed, in her Nyuu persona (sans all of her memories) she's about the most harmless person there is in the series.

So it's probably something of an unconscious impulse, a bit stronger than human anger, but nothing that can override free will.

It's pretty minor, considering I can just as well use Steam itself, which is still in American English, but this is nontheless a WTF worthy conundrum.
